BASIC GUIDEANCE

Thank you for stopping by, in this page we'll provide basic instructions to some of the most common computer issues, have a look:

How do I install Remote Support?

If a known computer technician is asking you over the phone to install the program under the link of REMOTE SUPPORT on the home page, read on, otherwise do not install anything on your PC nor give anyone your password, this can compromise the integrity of the network.

Once you've clicked on the REMOTE SUPPORT link on the home page, to download it, proceed to install it, you may have to open your downloads folder to install it, the name of the file wll be "host-7..."
And the publisher is Remote Utilities.

If you encounter an issue installing it, make sure you have administrator rights to the computer, or credentials with the proper permissions will be required to install, an on-site admin can help.

Here's the sequence to install the program:
Click on Next, accept twice, Next, Next for Options and Install.
Enter a password when prompted (write it down) and Finish.
Relay the password to the technician.

The program will now be on the System Tray, which is next to the clock on your computer screen (bottom right corner), if you place your mouse over the little icon, it should say Remote Utilities, and show a long number after the word ID, relay that number to the technician.

If you don't see the ID (not the IP address), then right click on the little icon and click on "Internet-ID connection settings", then click on "Get New ID", relay the new ID number to the technician.

At this point the technician should be able to connect successfully; the technician will probably change the password to make it more secure.
